Director of Employer Partnerships

BioBuzz Networks

Full-Time · Base + Commission + Equity · Maryland/DMV · Reports to the CEO

For more than 15 years, BioBuzz has been where the life sciences community goes to connect — across the BioHealth Capital Region, Greater Philadelphia, and North Carolina. A 30,000+ member community, the events where the industry actually meets, and the media and relationships that come from being in the room first. The executives and hiring leaders you’d be selling to already know us, and already trust us.

Now we’re building on that trust with a new AI-powered hiring platform — giving life sciences employers one place to brand themselves, post unlimited jobs, and hire faster. No one else in this industry pairs a real community with the platform and the recruiting muscle to back it up.

This is the role that turns 15 years of relationships into revenue. As Director of Employer Partnerships, you’ll be the first dedicated sales and delivery leader for our employer business — starting with a state-backed program, the BioCatalyst Partnership Program, that employers already want. You’ll own the full relationship: first conversation, signed agreement, renewal, expansion. There’s no playbook to inherit, because you’re the one who writes it.

It’s a true ground-floor seat at a growth-stage company — base, commission, and equity — with a clear path to Head of Revenue or Head of Sales as you build the function.

That’s where you come in.

Why this seat is rare

  • An established brand. 15+ years of credibility in life sciences. You’re not cold-calling strangers — you’re calling on a community that already knows the BioBuzz name.
  • Warm relationships, ready to grow. Real connections with executives and hiring leaders across the region, waiting for someone to own and expand them.
  • A program employers already want. BioCatalyst is state-backed and built to help companies grow their talent pipelines and their brand — an easy first “yes,” and the foundation for long-term partnerships.
  • Real upside, real ownership. Base + commission + equity, and a role that grows into Head of Revenue, Head of Sales, or Head of Client Success. Where it goes is in your hands.

What you’ll own

Revenue & full-cycle sales

  • Own the full cycle: prospecting, pitching, negotiating, and closing deals with life sciences employers.
  • Lead with BioCatalyst as the entry point, then grow each account into broader hiring and recruiting partnerships.
  • Build and manage a forecasted pipeline — stages, close dates, and employer revenue as your primary number.
  • Create the sales playbook, pricing, and proposal templates from scratch, and direct SDR and lead-gen activity to keep meetings flowing.
  • Close annual partnerships, not one-off transactions — and pursue sponsorship, event, and advertising deals as supplemental revenue.
  • You’ll be supported by a GTM associate and strategic marketing plan to convert new leads and nurture warm relationships.

Partner relationships & success

  • Be the primary relationship owner for every employer partner, from signed agreement through renewal and expansion.
  • Make sure each partner gets results — that their employer profile and job postings are attracting qualified candidates, and that a clear recruiting and search strategy is in place for any open roles awarded to us for recruitment.
  • Ensure each partner’s goals are being met with the BioCatalyst program, coordinate with the rest of the BioBuzz team on the employer-branding and workforce-development deliverables that come with each partnership.
  • Learn each partner’s hiring goals and connect them to the right BioBuzz solutions — branding, platform, or recruitment – upsell to grow the account.
  • Run quarterly check-ins that prove impact and open up the next opportunity.
  • Lead employer client growth into verticals, markets, and hiring segments across life sciences — and own the number.

Strategy & infrastructure

  • Build the playbook and shape an employer revenue strategy in coordination with CEO.
  • Stand up the CRM/ATS pipeline and reporting that give the business real-time visibility into revenue health.
  • Turn partner wins into case studies, proof points, and pitch materials that make the next sale easier.
  • Build a repeatable, scalable process that can support a team as you grow it.

What success looks like

  • First 90 days. You own the BioCatalyst story cold, your pipeline is robust, and your first 10 partners are signed and live for a Fall semester of student ambassadors and fellows.
  • By 6 months. A repeatable playbook and pricing model, a healthy forecasted pipeline, and BioCatalyst partners already seeing results as we scale into a more traditional SaaS model around employer subscriptions.
  • By 12 months. Employer revenue is a predictable, growing channel — and you’re ready to bring on and lead the team beneath you.

Who you are

  • A closer with a consultative style. You take deals from first conversation to signed agreement by understanding the customer, not by dialing for volume. This is a relationship-driven role, not a cold-call seat.
  • You’ve sold and delivered in this world. You come from an account executive or account management role in staffing, recruiting, or workforce solutions — or from consulting and professional-services sales, where you sell against problems and resourcing needs. You know the hiring space.
  • Connected in life sciences. You know biotech, pharma, CDMOs, and CROs and the talent organizations around them — ideally across Maryland/DMV, Greater Philadelphia, or North Carolina. You know who makes hiring decisions, and they know you.
  • An owner and a self-starter. You don’t wait for process — you build it. A growth-stage company where the ceiling is yours to set is exactly where you want to be.
  • A translator. You make BioBuzz land just as well with a VP of HR or a hiring manager as in a room full of executives.
  • Accountable to outcomes. Pipeline is the means. Revenue and renewals are the end.
